Elise Ebner - Artist and Bonecrafter

Elise Ebner is a Squamish based artist of many mediums. Her jewelry, designed around handmade bone and antler beads, reflects an appreciation for the places we live and the other beings that shape our landscape.

The deer bone, bear bone, caribou antler and other collected materials used in Elise’s jewelry designs are found while exploring the woods around Squamish and other places that she has lived worked and traveled. The bones she collects have all been cleaned by the woods and bleached by the sun. Each bone bead is cut, sanded and polished by hand and assembled into earrings, necklaces and bracelets with copper, sterling silver, and 14k gold wire, and are adorned with freshwater pearls.

Elise’s bone jewelry has a natural, unique elegance. The aesthetic shapes, lacy textures and smooth colours revealed in each bone bead make the medium unpredictable and alluring to work with.
